Savings to be made in Countesthorpe for quick off the mark buyers

Now would appear to be a good time to move home based on successive reports that consumer confidence is growing and house prices are rising.

Those who dally could find themselves priced out of the market if they wait too long.

Good news then that Redrow has a small number of properties ready to move into at its Thorpe Meadow development in Countesthorpe, Leicester.

They include the four-bedroom detached Cambridge family home, which is available with carpets and flooring included throughout. Redrow will even pay the stamp duty – a saving of almost £9,000 on this £269,995 home.

“Every day we seem to read or hear that house prices are rising and the property market is taking off. The Bank of England’s recent pledge to keep interest rates low for the next three years has certainly helped bolster consumer confidence, as have Government backed initiatives like Help to Buy, designed to make owning a home easier to afford,” Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands) commented.

The Cambridge is one of Redrow’s most popular house designs, thanks largely to its light, bright, spacious and well-equipped open plan kitchen, dining and family room with patio doors onto the rear garden.

“This is a room that’s designed to be the ‘hub’ or heart of the home. It’s a convivial space for families to come together whether to work, rest or play, while the separate lounge provides peace, quiet and the sophistication to cater for more formal occasions. Upstairs there are four good-size bedrooms, including the master with en-suite,” Pauline said.

“The inclusion of carpets throughout and chance to save on £9,000 worth of stamp duty is an added bonus.”

Those who don’t want to take advantage of the carpets and stamp duty paid deal could use Help to Buy to purchase the Cambridge instead. The open market price of £269,995 will be reduced to £215,995, with the balance covered by a 20% equity loan, which is interest free for five years. A 5% deposit should be sufficient to secure this deal.

Located in Leicester Road, Countesthorpe - a semi-rural, village setting just six miles south of Leicester city, close to good schools and within easy reach of the M69/M1 - Thorpe Meadow offers a good choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes, currently priced from £199,995.
