Bellway Homes is proud to launch Home, a collection of 32 apartments in the commuter village of Hersham. Sitting between ultra-aspirational Esher and the grand private estates of Burwood Park and Ashley Park in Walton-on-Thames, Home balances all the appeal of a semi-rural Surrey village with the convenience of fast access to central London.

Home comprises 30 one and two bedroom apartments and two studio properties in two traditionally designed blocks, with steep gables, warm brick and quaint dormer windows. The buildings are situated in a landscaped cul-de-sac just moments from Hersham Station, which provides five peak-time trains an hour to London Waterloo with a fantastic journey time of just 26 minutes. Large playing fields and the green swathes of Hersham Golf Club are moments from the front door, while Hersham’s village centre, gathered around a picturesque green and boasting a large Waitrose supermarket, is just down the road.

Nicky Morton, Sales Director at Bellway Homes South East, comments: “Few places offer the sheer convenience of Hersham, so we expect Home to be one of the most successful small-scale developments in our portfolio. It will have immense appeal for first-time buyers, downsizers and investors who simply want a handy base from which to enjoy the bright lights of London, or relax at the weekends in the beauty of the Surrey countryside.

“At Bellway, we strive to make sure our properties provide everything our buyers need for a great contemporary lifestyle. They’ll find it at Home.”

With such an enviable lifestyle on the doorstep, it is not surprising that style and convenience should also be the hallmarks of the apartments themselves. The kitchens are fitted with contemporary units with soft-closing doors and come complete with a Zanussi stainless-steel fan oven, a ceramic hob, an integrated Zanussi fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer. The Roca white sanitaryware in the bathrooms is offset by chrome towel radiators and ceramic floor tiles, while the bedrooms are fitted with neutral-coloured carpets. The thoughtful layout includes a utility cupboard for the discreet storage of appliances, and there are built-in wardrobes in the master bedrooms.

The village of Hersham has the wide choice of restaurants you’d expect from this corner of Surrey, as well as a plenty of attractive pubs. It is surrounded by tranquil woodland, perfect for walking, and the nearby reservoirs provide a good range of sailing and watersports facilities. Open expanses of common land makes Hersham a focus of equestrian activity, and there is world-class racing at Sandown Park, just two miles away. This is an area steeped in heritage and royal connections: close by are the famous landscaped gardens of Claremont, now owned by the National Trust, and the iconic Hampton Court Palace.

For more contemporary pleasures, there are major shopping destinations at Wimbledon and Kingston upon Thames, which boasts a flagship John Lewis store, the award-winning Bentalls Centre (with the chic Bentalls’ department store at its heart) and an ancient market place that still buzzes with fine food stalls and a fairytale German market each Christmas. Kingston’s Rose Theatre attracts leading actors in a wide-ranging drama programme, while a vibrant nightlife focuses on a huge Odeon multiplex and a famously buzzing selection of bars and clubs.

The launch of this superb new development promises to reinforce Hersham’s reputation as one of Surrey’s up and coming commuter locations. In addition to the superb rail links, Hersham’s travel kudos includes close proximity to the A3, the M3 and the M25, which provide fast access out into the countryside, down to the West Country and into the national motorway network. Heathrow Airport is an easy 19 miles away by road; Gatwick is 25 miles away.

Prices for properties at Home start from £157,995. For further information on properties available, visit bellwayhomes.co.uk.
