Help to Buy providing a huge boost for Widnes homebuyers

A £3.5bn Government scheme designed to help people buy their own homes has proven a hit at Redrow’s development in Widnes.

Launched just six months ago, the Help to Buy initiative has helped finance the moves of more than 15,000 homebuyers in England.

Those figures include buyers at Redrow’s Lancaster Place, in Widnes, where a third of all purchasers have used the scheme to put deposits down on their dream home since the initiative was introduced in April 2013.

And with the second phase of the 128-home development now well underway, Redrow expects the number of buyers using the scheme to increase.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW) explains: “Help to Buy enables all buyers to put down just a 5% deposit on a newly built home. All our homes at Lancaster Place can be bought using the scheme and we’re now seeing a growing public awareness about the level of help available for purchasers.

“So much has changed since this development opened in November last year, it’s really taken shape. I would encourage any would-be home buyers to come along and explore what’s on offer and hear about the range of financing options open to them, including Help to Buy and part exchange.”

With the number of UK home buyers at a six-year high and with house prices expected to keep rising, it is no surprise that people are once again keen to invest in a home.

So far all 29 of the built homes at Lancaster Place have been moved into and another six properties have already been reserved.

Homebuyers can also now see landscaped areas across the development, street scenes and the luxurious interiors of the four-bedroom Richmond show home.

Anita added: “Homes at Lancaster Place are well and truly made for family living. They each offer open-plan areas designed for spending quality time together, as well as spacious bedrooms for those times when you just want to relax. We have really thought about who might live in each of the houses, the style they would choose and also the practical elements that would be important to them.”

Situated on the northern and easterly fringes of Widnes and bordered by open fields, Lancaster Place is close to Widnes town centre and within easy travel of Liverpool, Warrington and Manchester, via the M62 motorway or by rail from Widnes train station, which offers journey times to Liverpool and Manchester of around 30 minutes.

All those interested can visit the development on Lunts Heath Road from 10am to 5.30pm, Tuesday to Sunday, and from 11am to 5.30pm on Monday.

Alternatively, home buyers can visit redrow.co.uk/Lancaster.
