The first homes being built as part of Derby’s £100 million Castleward redevelopment will be revealed at a special launch event on Thursday 24th October.

Home buyers are invited to join house builder, Compendium Living, at Derbyshire County Cricket Ground’s Gateway Centre, on Grandstand Road, from 4pm to 7.30pm for the first look at Castleward’s contemporary new homes.

The event offers an opportunity to see brochures for the development and view floorplans of the house designs, which are exclusive to Castleward.

Visitors can also enter a free prize draw to win £500 worth of Westfield vouchers, while the first 10 reservations will receive an iPad upon completion.

The first phase of Castleward’s new urban community will feature 163 high specification two, three and four-bedroom homes.

Dave Bullock, Managing Director at Compendium Living, comments: “We are delighted to be celebrating the next step in the transformation of Castleward by revealing this collection of new homes to the public.

“We are inviting home buyers to come and join us at this special event to find out more about the contemporary neighbourhood we are creating and see for the first time what these new homes will look like.

“These homes are really like nothing else currently available in Derby; we’re creating an aspirational place to live at Castleward by moving away from the traditional idea of city living with the creation of a new urban community.

“Homes will sit alongside new local amenities, a tree-lined boulevard and an urban park, and will be within easy reach of the city centre, making them a very attractive and highly desirable place to live.”

Five acres of land are currently being redeveloped as part of the first phase of Castleward and will include approximately 16,500 sqft. of commercial space, a boulevard and a new urban park alongside the new homes.

In total, Compendium Living is transforming 30 acres of land between Derby Midland Station and the city centre into an attractive gateway to the heart of Derby.

Compendium Living was selected as the preferred developer by Derby City Council and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency.

Dave adds: “Castleward has already generated a lot of interest from local people who are looking for high quality homes in a convenient location, so we expect a high turnout for the event.

“We’re now encouraging those who want to be part of this brand new community to come and see for themselves the lifestyle they can enjoy right on the doorstep of the city centre.”

Earlier this year, Castleward became only the country’s second residential development project to achieve certification under the BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) Communities following a voluntary assessment.

The BREEAM Communities assessment measures the sustainability of new large-scale developments at the master planning stage, with certification awarded to projects where economic, social and environmental sustainability are being carefully considered.

The event takes place at the Gateway Centre at Derbyshire County Cricket Ground from 4pm to 7.30pm on Thursday 24th October.
