Miller Homes Midlands is casting a spell on the housing market this Halloween to offer buyers the perfect affordable treat.

The housebuilder is reminding househunters in the region of the enchanting offers and range of properties available across Derbyshire.

Prices in the county start from as little as £159,950 for the three-bedroom Tolkien style property at The Portlands development in Chesterfield, and with the added incentive of Help to Buy, purchasing a new house is not a scary prospect.

Paul Walters, associate director for Miller Homes Midlands said: “We often see a surge of interest around Halloween as it’s the ideal time to buy to make sure that you can be in your new home for the start of the new year.

“It therefore seems like the ideal time to remind buyers of the options available to them to help them get onto the property ladder, to buy a bigger property or to downsize. There’s no magic or trickery involved, we just want to make purchasing as easy and affordable as possible.”

Buyers can take advantage of the Help to Buy government-backed scheme. This offers assistance to those who only have a small deposit of around 5% through the provision of a 20% equity loan from the Government for those who meet the qualifying criteria. This means househunters only need to secure up to a 75% mortgage from a bank or building society, making The Tolkien at The Portlands available from as little as £127,960.
