Jeep has teamed up with the UK’s top charity fundraiser, Lloyd Scott MBE, for his most ambitious charity project to date – a Monster walk with a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Lloyd will walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats accompanied by a life-size T-Rex to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, the national charity which helps young people fight cancer.

Made in the Philippines and standing over 13 feet high at the hips and nearly 30 feet long, the T-Rex will attract lots of attention from the public on its nationwide tour of the UK. The Monster walk will take 70 days to complete and starts on the 19th July at Land’s End and finishes at John O’ Groats.

Lloyd Scott approached Jeep earlier this year as he needed a vehicle that was capable of towing a life-size version of the T-Rex around the UK. The Monster walk will stop off at main towns on the way but also at locations that are off the beaten track, a vehicle was needed that was capable off-road as it was on-road. The Jeep Wrangler fitted the bill perfectly – world-class off-road ability with great on-road capabilities.

Nigel Land, Marketing Director of Chrysler UK Ltd, said: “To be honest this is the first time I have been asked if I had a vehicle that could tow a T-Rex!

“The Wrangler has a reputation as a ‘Go Anywhere, Do Anything’ vehicle, and the Jeep will Go Anywhere in the UK and as for Do Anything, well this is the first time it has towed a life-size dinosaur!

“We are delighted to team up with Lloyd and we hope he reaches his £500,000 target for such a fantastic charity.”

Commenting on his Monster Walk, Lloyd Scott, said: “Twenty years ago I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia and had a less than 10% chance of survival. After having a life-saving bone marrow transplant, I decided to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and to show other sufferers that leukaemia and other cancers can, with a positive outlook and attitude be beaten and overcome.

“Over the years I have completed a number of charity feats – most famously in my deep-sea diving suit in the London marathon - but I wanted to do something even bigger this year to celebrate my life-saving transplant, and you can’t get much bigger than a life-size dinosaur!

“I would like to say a big thank you to Jeep for supplying the Wrangler and look forward to walking alongside two great legends – the Jeep Wrangler and the Tyrannosaurus Rex.”
