The Air France Airbus A380 lands in Hong Kong

During the summer 2014 season, Air France is serving Hong Kong with a daily flight, operated at night on the way there and back, thus making it easier for customers to rest prior to arrival at destination.

From 27 May and up to 8 June 2014 and from 16 to 22 June, this flight is operated 4 times a week by Airbus A380 and 3 times a week by Boeing 777-300. From 9 to 15 June and from 23 June to 25 October 2014, this daily frequency will be exclusively operated by the Air France superjumbo.

Served by Air France for the past 75 years, Hong Kong is the second destination in China to be served by the A380 after Shanghai.

From 27 May to 8 June and from 16 to 22 June 2014, flights on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday will be operated by A380. From 9 to 15 June and from 23 June to 25 October 2014, the flight will be operated by A380 on a daily basis.

New feature: Air France on WeChat in China

Since May 2014, Air France has been the first non-Chinese airline to reply to its customers on WeChat, an instant messaging mobile application which is very popular in China with more than 600 million members worldwide.

This new feature is in addition to Air France’s services on social networks with teams available to assist passengers before, during and after their trip to answer any questions they may have as soon as possible.

In China, Air France and KLM also exchange with passengers on Sina Weibo, which has 350,000 followers. All over the worldwide, the group replies to travellers on Facebook and Twitter in nine languages 24/7 and on Instagram from both airlines’ dedicated accounts.

The Paris-Hong Kong route was launched in 1938. At the time, it took 8 days to fly from Paris to Hong Kong by Dewoitine 338. Today, the flight takes 11 hours 30 minutes, on departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

With its partners China Southern and China Eastern, Air France-KLM offers up to 128 weekly flights to China.
