The sky’s the limit as Seat teams up with the Red Devils

Formed in 1964 to promote recruitment into the Parachute Regiment, The Red Devils is the largest and most experienced parachute display team in the UK, with 25 members. It carries out over 100 spectacular parachute displays each year raising over £100,000 for charity – and as the team’s not renowned for travelling lightly, it needs ground-support vehicles to move comfortably and swiftly around the country.
SEAT UK has therefore supplied the team with five branded Alhambras; the popular seven-seater MPV, which has enough room for the team and its unusually large hand luggage.
The Red Devils jumped into action for SEAT at the recent Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship race, when some of the members of the elite Parachute Regiment battalion parachuted into Knockhill racing circuit.
One extremely interested spectator was SEAT Sport UK’s racing driver Jason Plato, who is due to freefall with The Red Devils later in the year.
Marcus Orme, from The Red Devils, said: “Having the Alhambras really has made all the difference. The response from the public has been staggering – the vehicles are so eye-catching that we've been absolutely swamped by spectators when we’ve taken them to displays. I've seen lots of people pointing at them and waving in the street, and on tandem days people have even been seen posing for photos next to them! We've had graphics on vehicles before, but I've never seen a response like this – and I've been with the team for nearly seven years.”
SEAT UK’s Director, Peter Wyhinny, said: “What a fantastic team for us to assist! The Red Devils are famous for their spectacular freefalling exploits, and SEAT is proud to be associated with this dynamic group.”
The SEAT Alhambra, which starts at just £16,265 RRP on the road, has long been recognised as one of the best-specified, best-looking and best value MPVs on the market. It has won numerous awards thanks to its outstanding value, high specification, fitness for purpose, image, reliability, low running costs and strong residual values.
