A Widnes housing venture is adding more brand new homes to its portfolio after achieving great sales success so far.

The range of two, three and four-bedroom homes at Redrow’s Barrow’s Green development have been selling fast since sales began back in the spring of 2012 and the positive trend looks set to continue as a new wave of homes is due to be released.

Current availability ranges from a two-bedroom ‘Evesham’ property up to a four-bedroom ‘Windsor’ housetype. All of the homes hail from the housebuilder’s sought-after Heritage Collection which marries contemporary 21st century interiors with Arts and Crafts-inspired exteriors.

So far, the two and three-bedroom homes have been popular with young professionals keen to take advantage of Barrow’s Green’s easy access to Liverpool, Runcorn and Warrington, while the four-bedroom homes are attracting a number of families to the location.

Elaine Mounsey, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “We’re thrilled with the response to Barrow’s Green so far. Widnes is a great location for commuters as it is right in the heart of the North West. The homes cater for a wide range of people from first-time buyers, downsizers and families wanting more space to accommodate their growing brood; there’s something for everyone here.

“And with a number of three and four-bedroom homes coming soon, it’s an ideal time to come along and experience first-hand the kind of lifestyle on offer. What’s more, all of the homes qualify for the Help to Buy scheme which helps those who may not have a substantial deposit.”

Help to Buy includes an equity loan for up to 20% of the purchase price. That then reduces the initial outlay and means that buyers only need a 5% deposit. The remaining 75% is then covered by a mortgage.

Part of the Cheshire borough of Halton, Widnes has become an increasingly fashionable place for homebuyers in recent years.

Work has just started on the Mersey Gateway Project, which will provide residents with a second Mersey crossing by autumn 2017 between Runcorn and Widnes , meanwhile they can already enjoy the recently opened £40m Tesco Extra and the New Widnes Shopping Park.
