Boasting 42x and 30x optical zooms, both models incorporate Canon’s leading optical expertise in stunning, highly compact bodies – ideal for capturing virtually any special occasion in the quality it deserves.
Zoom into every detail
Built to help you tackle any situation, the PowerShot SX520 HS’s 42x optical zoom lens is versatile enough to capture all subjects, from unmissable holidays to days out. With a 24mm wide-angle lens, it offers the flexibility to capture sweeping vistas, while an impressive 1008mm maximum focal length lets you zoom in on detail in the distance.
The PowerShot SX520 HS’s improved Zoom Framing Assist Auto mode automatically adjusts the zoom to maintain subjects at a pre-set size within the frame. The camera detects when a subject is close to moving out of the frame and automatically zooms out keeping the subject in frame. It also smoothly pulls back as a subject comes towards the camera to maintain their face at the same size.
Packed into a compact, lightweight body, the PowerShot SX400 IS contains a powerful 30x optical zoom – perfect for those moments you don’t want to miss. The compact design is easy to carry wherever you go, with a large, comfortable grip that combines with a huge 24-720mm focal range to make it easier than ever to capture all the action. The PowerShot SX520 HS is powered by Canon’s acclaimed HS System, which combines a DIGIC 4+ processing engine with a high-sensitivity 16 megapixel, back-illuminated CMOS sensor – delivering sharp and detailed results, with realistic colours, even in low light. The PowerShot SX520 HS makes discovering your inner creativity easy, with Creative Shot. If you choose, every time you press the shutter the camera can automatically apply any one of 46 special effects, each arranged into four categories. Creative Shot unleashes a new perspective on images, by simply creating five additional files when you shoot – each with a different creative effect. The PowerShot SX400 IS meanwhile features a range of Creative Filters, including Fisheye and Monochrome.
