With one in 10 householders counting the cost of botched DIY, starting afresh in a brand new home in Market Harborough could save time and money.

Research by Lloyds Bank suggests that 44% of homeowners have carried out significant home improvements or plan to do so – with varying degrees of success!

In contrast, the properties at Rockingham View lend themselves perfectly to family living and won’t need lots of repairs or renovations.

With selected homes almost ready to move into, buyers could find that DIY is soon a thing of the past.

Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “Repairs and maintenance can eat up a significant chunk of household budgets, particularly for those living in older properties. In fact many of those surveyed by Lloyds found their repair bills almost doubled when things went wrong.

“The beauty of buying a brand new home is that there’s no DIY required. We’ll ensure the kitchen is fitted with stylish yet practical cupboards and drawers and that sleek modern suites and quality fixtures and fittings are installed in the bathroom and en-suite. We even include top brand name integrated kitchen appliances which come with manufacturers’ warranties for added peace of mind.”

Rockingham view offers a good choice of homes from Redrow’s sought-after Heritage Collection. Outside they boast some of the traditional architectural features that people crave for in an older home, but inside they have all the high-spec accoutrements for modern, family living.

A four-bedroom detached Stratford style property, priced from £289,950, is simply waiting for the finishing touches that help transform a house into a home.

It features a combined kitchen and dining room that provides a focal point for family life, separate lounge, laundry area and cloakroom to the ground floor.

Upstairs, the master bedroom enjoys the benefit of an en-suite, with the remaining three bedrooms sharing the family bathroom.

Help to Buy is available at Rockingham View, making homeownership easier to afford by offering customers the chance to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the asking price. Crucially, the loan is interest free for five years. Another advantage of the scheme is that buyers should only need a relatively small deposit of around 5%.

Using Help to Buy the Stratford could be snapped up for an initial outlay of £231,960.

Located in Glebe Road, Market Harborough, little more than half a mile from the town’s Sainsbury and Waitrose supermarkets, Rockingham View is ideally placed. The local train station is just a short drive from the development, offering 35 trains a day to London every weekday with journey times from 61 minutes. Plus with a choice of schools nearby, it is perfect for buyers with families.

Showhomes at Rockingham View are open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
