Change at the top for Dundee Van Centre

A new management team has taken the helm at a Dundee business bringing with them more than 50 years of industry experience.

Joe McCauley and Gary Bruce have joined the Volkswagen van centre, Clark Commercials Dundee, as general manager and aftersales manager, respectively.

Joe has been appointed to lead the Myrekirk Road team and to strengthen the Volkswagen commercial vehicle presence in the Dundee area.

Having worked in the automotive industry for over 25 years Joe has spent the majority of his career in key managerial and group director roles for various manufacturers including Honda and Skoda.

Gary, from Kirriemuir, began as an apprentice and has worked his way up the career ladder to managerial level. Boasting over 28 years of experience, Gary has worked for high profile brands, such as Audi, Alfa Romeo and Land Rover.

Having dedicated the last three years to the Volkswagen commercial vehicle brand at Clark Commercials Aberdeen, Gary is now transferring his aftersales expertise to benefit van operators in Dundee.

The commercial vehicle business, which is part of the John Clark Motor Group, was launched in 2012. The new appointments are expected to grow the business across the Dundee region.

“Joe’s vast managerial experience provides him with the skills and determination to deliver exceptional customer service whilst developing a young business.

“Gary has a proven track record with the Group after managing and coaching a number of national award- winning Volkswagen apprentices while he was at our Aberdeen site. Coupled with his previous aftersales experience Gary has a clear understanding of keeping commercial vehicles vans downtime to a minimum.”

Joe added: “A customer’s van is the tool of his trade - if it’s off the road, his business stops and we understand this.

“The Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles range in Dundee is still in its infancy. This new role is an exciting challenge as we establish new business partnerships with van operators and fleet managers as well as maintaining our existing customers.”
