A Bradford-based business is continuing to play its role in boosting the regional economy, after increasing its fleet with a West Yorkshire business.

MCP Environmental, which celebrates its 35th birthday next year, has just taken delivery of a specially modified Volkswagen Crafter double cab dropside van from Volkswagen Van Centre (West Yorkshire), to boost its fleet of vehicles to 18 – all Volkswagen.

The company now employs 125 people and works all over the UK, working for blue-chip clients such as the National Grid, Royal Mail and the Highways agency undertaking environmental and civil engineering schemes.

Matt McHale, senior operations manager as MCP Environmental, is pleased with the growth in the business and knows it’s important to work with other Yorkshire businesses.

“It’s important that our fleet of vans have the flexibility for our work force and the type of jobs we carry out,” said Matt.

“Fuel economy and residual values are vital to all businesses and this played a key role when deciding on where we purchased the vehicles from.

“Volkswagen is a quality brand and fits well with the ethos of MCP Environmental, while working with Volkswagen Van Centre (West Yorkshire) has been important in keeping business in Yorkshire.

“The feedback from our drivers is excellent and as we work all over the country, it’s important that the cabs are comfortable for drivers and passengers.

“In 2014 we’re hoping to continue to grow the business and we’ll once again be using Volkswagen Van Centre (West Yorkshire) to supply any new vans.”

Andrew Caygill, director at Volkswagen Van Centre (West Yorkshire), said: “This is another fantastic local account win for the company and provides evidence of our customer service excellence standards.

“We hope to provide MCP Environmental with more vehicles in the future.

“Supporting local businesses like MCP Environmental is important to us and it all helps to maintain a healthy and prosperous Yorkshire economy.”
