Strong deliveries and record production from Volvo Trucks

Deliveries from Volvo Trucks increased by 9 per cent between January and November this year. In total, 94,693 trucks were delivered and the largest increase was noted in North America, where sales rose by 26 per cent (29,620 vehicles).

The number of trucks delivered in Europe was on a par with the same period last year (-1 per cent), although in France and Britain deliveries increased by 12 and 4 per cent respectively.

On the North American market, the demand for heavy trucks continued to remain strong, with 29,620 trucks delivered during this period, corresponding to an increase of 26 percent. The largest market, the USA, increased by 35 per cent with sales totalling 25,701 vehicles (19,101 in the same period last year).

In South America, deliveries rose by 6 per cent, totalling 7,265 trucks. In Asia too there was an upswing, with the number of trucks delivered rising by 11 per cent to 16,493 vehicles.

In addition, last Friday Volvo Trucks produced its 100,000th truck – a new record and the first time ever that the Company has produced so many trucks in a year which, of course, is not yet over ! The previous production record of 97,554 trucks was set in 2004.
