Home buyers are being invited to discover all the benefits of buying new at Vivo in Stockton-on-Tees, after a survey from Aviva found that purchasers of second-hand properties were spending, on average, £3,490 on essential repairs after moving in.

Lovell and Muse Developments are now encouraging home buyers to view the two, three and four-bedroom homes currently available at Vivo, on Northshore Road, where they can enjoy a smooth move to a new home without facing any maintenance headaches.

As the survey from Aviva also revealed that the average buyer spent just over half an hour viewing a property before purchasing it, Lovell and Muse Developments are also urging home buyers to take their time when it comes to making the biggest purchase of their lives.

Anita Onal, Sales Adviser at Vivo, comments: “When viewing a second-hand property many buyers feel under pressure to make a quick decision, especially with the speed the housing market is picking up, but snap decisions can be costly, as this survey shows.

“We always encourage home buyers to take their time when viewing a property, because purchasing a home is such a big decision and one that we want them to get right.

“On average, home buyers visit us at least twice before making their big decision, although some people will visit three or four times before reserving, and spend plenty of time viewing the show homes and available plots.

“We do find that people feel more confident about purchasing a new home because they know that there won’t be any nasty surprises once they move in.”

Rather than counting the cost of a quick viewing, home buyers at Vivo can expect a high specification home, including a fully fitted kitchen with integrated cooking appliances, and have the reassurance of a 10-year NHBC warranty.

In fact, buyers at Vivo may even save money on their bills, as homes come with smart utility metering, which allows home owners to monitor their energy consumption.

Buyers can also expect to be well looked after, as the house builder’s customer service has been ranked gold standard by house buyers, following an independent national survey by Inhouse Research, in which 90% of customers revealed they would happily recommend Lovell.

Anita adds: “We believe in providing our customers with the best service throughout their purchasing experience, from the moment they visit one of our show homes to the day they get the keys to their new home and beyond, ensuring each buyer is happy in their new home is our priority.”

Homes are priced from £129,950.

All homes are available with the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which allows buyers to purchase using a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage, backed up with a 20% equity.
