Volvo FL and FE - business solutions with a clear customer focus
The new Volvo Trucks business concept for companies operating in cities and towns covers far more than just the truck itself. The approach also encompasses a number of new services designed to help operators perform their haulage duties as efficiently, simply and trouble-free as possible."Many of the companies that work with local or regional transportation want a holistic solution that helps them deal with their transport requirements simply and with good total economy," says Hampus Hansson, Business area Manager for FL and FE at Volvo Trucks. "With our new expanded service offers and our comprehensive transport solutions, we will be able to meet these companies’ requirements in an even better way than before."
From service contracts to truck rental
Among the new facilities is the option of purchasing or leasing a complete distribution truck from Volvo, advantageous service contracts and truck rentals for shorter or longer periods. Driver training with the emphasis on fuel economy and safety is another area on which Volvo is focusing its attention.
The launch of the new service range will get under way during 2006 at Volvo’s dealer network throughout Europe. The intention is that the dealer should serve as a ‘one-stop shop’ providing access to just about everything to do with transport operations.
In addition to Volvo’s regular range of facilities and servicing, parts supply, tyres, service contracts, financing etc, the following will be offered:
Volvo FL CitiPro
A factory-built, completely equipped 12-tonne Volvo FL distribution truck with van body and tail lift, ready for work from the very day it is delivered to the customer.
Golden Lease
Up to December 31st 2006 a comprehensive transport solution is offered at a fixed monthly cost. Covers operational leasing of a Volvo FL CitiPro and all preventive maintenance and all repairs to the entire vehicle (including the body and tail lift), insurance and driver training.
Volvo Truck Rental
When extra haulage capacity is needed, for instance to handle peak demand, the customer always has the possibility to rent a smartly turned out truck. The rental period can be anything from one day to several months, as required.
Driver Development
Driver training with the emphasis on fuel economy and safety.
User needs in focus
Behind the development of the new business concept lies a thorough analysis of the needs and prerequisites that affect the everyday operations of companies.
"Most companies in this segment operate in cities and many have operations other than haulage as their core business. They usually want to be free to focus on their core operation and are not particularly interested in maintaining a vehicle fleet. That is why the main thrust here is to offer such companies security, good total economy and trouble-free overall solutions," explains Hampus Hansson.
