Hallett Silbermann make their mark with new Volvo FH

Hatfield-based haulier Hallett Silbermann recently took part in the annual Cart Marking ceremony in London’s Guildhall Yard when, supervised by Michael Power, Master of the Worshipful Company of Carmen, with both the Keeper of Guildhall and the current Lord Mayor, Alderman David Brewer CMG in attendance, the company’s new Volvo 150 tonne GCW FH520 8x4 tractor unit was ‘branded’ with a letter signifying the year, together with a vehicle number and the arms of the City of London and those of the Carmen.
Established in 1946, this is Hallett Silbermann’s 60th anniversary and the company has taken part in the ancient ceremony many times over the years. Founder John Silbermann is a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Carmen.
The new Volvo went straight to work after the ceremony, hauling loads up to 100 tonnes, including a new 75 tonne excavator demonstrator belonging to Volvo Construction Equipment of Duxford, near Cambridge.
