First Volvo is flagship FH16 for First London Logistics

Ordered as a top of the range company flagship, the FH16 is the first of 21 new Volvo’s to join the fleet of the image conscious company. The rest of the order, which is being supplied by the Ipswich depot of Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia, is for FH-480 6x2 44 tonne GCW tractor units.
Specification of the FH16 is comprehensive and includes Volvo’s Office package, ‘Prestige’ trim with leather seats, full climate control, factory-fitted microwave, fridge and coffee maker, 6-disc CD changer, pop-up 5 inch colour reversing monitor together with Volvo’s Dynafleet system including remote control keyboard and Volvo supplied sat-nav featuring low bridge-height warning.
According to First London Logistics Director Steve Cawthorne, the high specification Volvo’s were purchased to attract and retain top quality drivers. "Our long term strategy is to provide both third-party contract haulage and to take care of our own in-house requirements by having a modern and diverse fleet, with drivers who are keen to play a part in our success. We are a forward thinking company and we encourage and embrace any technological advances that can offer us greater business efficiencies. That’s why we have equipped all the vehicles with Volvo’s Dynafleet Transport Information System. The new trucks represent a substantial investment and will help us to deliver a top-class, premium service to our customers."
The FH16 will be maintained by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia on a 7-year Repair and Maintenance contract.
