Boughey distribution’s centenary Volvo arrives

However for Boughey Distribution Ltd of Wardle, Cheshire - one of the UK’s leading ambient grocery distribution and storage companies - their fleet has now reached new realms. Not only have they attained centenary status with over 100 trucks, but with their recent purchase - an impressive Volvo FH-440 - they also became the proud operators of over 100 Volvo trucks.
At a time of continued development and investment for Boughey the milestone vehicle arrived just as construction began on their new £16 million development project. Forming part of Boughey’s future growth and expansion strategies the company has started work on new storage facilities to accommodate new customers and target new business in the non-ambient storage market.
“Boughey’s has seen continued investment over recent years, not only in our warehousing facilities but also in our fleet,” explains Keith Forster, Boughey Distribution’s Managing Director. “From our point of view, attaining our centenary vehicle not only marks the company’s success to date, but also begins a new era for us as our company develops.”
To celebrate the new arrival of their Volvo FH the company also decided to livery the truck with commemorative paintwork allowing it to become easily recognisable amongst the rest of their distinctive blue, red and white liveried fleet.
As Keith explains, “As this was our 100th Volvo we wanted to mark the occasion and make the vehicle stand out. It has special edition paintwork and decaled with “100th Volvo Truck” on the side of the vehicle. “
Boughey has been purchasing Volvo trucks for over eight years now and, as Keith states, “Volvo Trucks have always been reliable and fit for purpose; we have never had a reason to change manufacturers.”
The company purchases all their Volvo Trucks from Thomas Hardie Commercials, the Volvo Truck and Bus dealership for the North West. Keith told us that, “Thomas Hardie Commercials have served us very well. Thanks to a strong relationship we have been able to build up and maintain a modern fleet that is best suited to our extensive transportation requirements.”
