Volvo Trucks continue to grow in Eastern Europe
Volvo Trucks delivered 95,458 vehicles (94,693) in the period January - November 2006, which is an increase of 1 per cent. However, in Eastern Europe, the positive development continued and deliveries increased by 42 per cent.Deliveries in Western Europe increased by 11 per cent during the January - November period, amounting to 35,434 vehicles (32,012). Deliveries increased in France and Germany by 16 per cent (5,915) and 21 percent (4,235) respectively.
In Eastern Europe, the positive development continued, and deliveries increased by 42 per cent (8,896), primarily in Russia and Poland. On the Russian market the number of deliveries totalled 1,944 vehicles - which is an increase of 82 per cent – whereas in Poland there was a significant 54 per cent increase which saw the number of delivered trucks increase from 1,247 to 1,918.
In North America deliveries continued to rise. The number of delivered vehicles totalled 34,050 (29,620), an increase of 15 per cent.
The South American market saw a decline of 2 per cent, and the number of delivered vehicles totalled 7,114 (7,265). In Asia (excluding the Middle East) an upswing of 8 per cent was recorded, and the number of delivered trucks totalled 3,411 vehicles (3,156).
