To meet this demand, the company has just taken delivery of two Volvo FM rigid trucks - the first Volvo vehicles in their expanding fleet – and the first of six ordered from Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd.

Firow’s Sales Director, Gary Unsworth stated that, “We aim to run our new Volvo’s’ for the next few years as a trial. If they perform well I could see us buying considerably more in the future.”

Thomas Hardie’s Area Sales Manager, Mark Lingard commented, “I’m glad we have been given the chance to supply Firow. As with all our customers we aim to build a strong, long-term relationship with them.”

All the 13-litre, 400bhp 8x4 B-Ride vehicles all have a similar specification, featuring Day cabs with ‘Comfort’ trim.

Firow’s new Volvo’s will be leased on a long-term contract hire basis to Arthur Wright and Sons – Municipal Hire.

The vehicles will be operating in the Stoke-on-Trent area, as well as the rest of the Midlands, from their Sandiway Depot near Northwich.
