Halifax team up with Quidco to give you extra over the holiday season

2nd December 2014 Print

Customers looking to switch their current account to Halifax before Christmas can now earn a bonus of £140 when switching through the cashback website Quidco.

From today, the bank is extending its popular £100 switching bonus following an offer with Quidco, providing an extra £40 to those switching to a Halifax current account.

To qualify for the improved reward, customers will need to apply through the Quidco website before December 24th and use the Current Account Switching Service. They will receive the initial £100 from Halifax within seven days and the additional £40 from Quidco within 90 days of switching. Therefore any customers switching before 15th December will be guaranteed to receive the £100 reward before Christmas.

Additionally, this means customers switching to the Halifax Reward Current Account can earn around £200 in rewards during the first year after they have switched to this account, including:

£100 switching bonus, when customers use the CASS

£40 switching bonus, when applying through the Quidco website

12 x £5 monthly reward payments when customers pay in £750; pay out two direct debits, and stay in credit each month

Customers can also earn cashback with top retailers such as Morrisons, Waitrose and House of Fraser with Cashback Extras

Anthony Warrington, Director of Halifax Current Accounts, said: “Halifax has consistently demonstrated it’s the bank that's most rewarding for customers. We are delighted to be able to give our customers extra as we approach the holiday season through this new deal with Quidco.”

The Payments Council revealed in October that across the industry 1.2 million customers have switched their accounts in the first year of the CASS service. With around a quarter of a million choosing Halifax, the bank has remained the number 1 choice for almost one in every four customers using the service with the switch guarantee over the past 12 months.
