Derby’s landmark Castleward development is leading the way in spacious and stylish new homes after its show home was shortlisted for a national award.

The three-bedroom Crompton show home at the city centre development has been shortlisted for Best Show Home by the First Time Buyers’ Readers Awards 2015 thanks to its fresh and vibrant design.

Dave Bullock, Managing Director at Compendium Living, the developer behind Castleward, comments: “We are delighted that our show home has been shortlisted for this award, which echoes the feedback we have received from those that have visited the development.

“This shows we are successfully creating stylish city centre living and that the carefully considered interior design perfectly complements the modern design of this home.

“Our aim with Castleward is to provide the type of aspirational, high specification homes that buyers want to live in and the popularity of this particular house type demonstrates that this is something we are achieving.”

The Crompton show home, which was designed in partnership with Claude Hooper, and has been given a quirky, modern retro feel, with a vibrant mixed berry and citrus green colour scheme and 50s influenced furniture.

Designed with young, forward-thinking families in mind, the Crompton benefits from a spacious open-plan living area, completed with high specification fully fitted kitchen, and attractive roof terrace.

Castleward which is conveniently located between Derby city centre and the railway station, features a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes and two-bedroom apartments.

A selection of two and three-bedroom homes are also available to purchase using shared ownership through Riverside Home Ownership.

Dave adds: “It may be early days in the life of the development, but we have already won a number of accolades for Castleward, including a Forum for the Built Environment award, so we are all hoping that this success continues.

“Those who haven’t yet visited Castleward are invited to come and view our Crompton show home to judge for themselves whether they think it is an award winner.”

Homes are priced from £127,500.

Castleward is the redevelopment of 30 acres of brownfield land between Derby Midland Station and the Intu shopping centre, which will become a brand new community of sustainable homes and businesses.

In total, Castleward will feature 800 new homes and 35,000 sq ft of commercial space, as well as a public open space and a new boulevard linking the railway station to the city centre.

Regeneration specialist, Compendium Living, was selected as the preferred developer by Derby City Council and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
