Transporter reliability sparks fleet growth for electrical firm

Volkswagen Transporter An electrical contractor, G E Bright of Tenbury Wells, Herefordshire, has been so pleased with the reliability and performance of its fleet of Volkswagen Transporter vans that it’s adding four more to its fleet, which will be supplied by Volkswagen’s South Hereford Van Centre.

G E Bright changed its fleet to Volkswagen Transporters four years ago to coincide with an update of its corporate image and new logo.

‘We switched to the Volkswagen Transporter because we had heard excellent reports about the reliability and performance,’ said David Bright, son of Geoff Bright who started the family business in 1952.

‘Our Transporters have proved to be very reliable and extremely popular with our drivers, but apart from the fact that it’s an excellent vehicle to drive, we have been very impressed with the customer service we have received from our local Volkswagen Van Centre in Hereford, and its business sales department in particular.

For example, there is always a loan vehicle available, plus the convenience of a collection and delivery service, which is vital as we’re always busy and need to ensure we can meet the needs of our customers whenever they call us – we simply can’t afford to have our engineers off the road,’ he continued.

The Transporter is Volkswagen’s best-selling van in the UK and offers a choice of short or long wheelbase, low, medium or high roof, with load volumes from 5.8 m³ to 9.3 m³, and payloads from 802 kg to 1,383 kg.

Prices for the Transporter range start from £13,980 or £205 a month including free servicing over 36 months or 30,000 miles (whichever is sooner) with Volkswagen’s current Contract Hire and Finance Lease offer. Full details of the Transporter range and the finance offer are available at www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk.

‘Volkswagen is proud of its strong reputation for customer service, and this example demonstrates exactly why we have invested in developing our unique network of dedicated Van Centres that understand the needs of our customers,’ said Stephen Bateson, Head of Aftersales and Customer Services, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

‘Aftersales support and customer service is a particularly important consideration when buying a van and could be critical to their business,’ he continued.
