Volkswagen Fleet Services has been presented with the prestigious Editor’s Award, and for the third year running Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has scooped the Best Large Van award for its Crafter at the annual Fleet World Honours held at the RAC Club in London.

Presented to Cheryle Kateley, Fleet Marketing Manager, Volkswagen UK, the Editor’s Award was voted for by a panel of industry professionals including George Emmerson, who has managed fleets at IBM, NHBC and Black Horse Agencies. Members of the panel include Ken Rogers, John Kendall and Ross Durkin from Fleet World’s editorial team. The award recognises the performance of every aspect of Volkswagen’s UK fleet operations from the product itself to customer care and running costs.

Ross Durkin, Editor of Fleet World, commented: ‘Volkswagen’s success is richly deserved in what is a highly competitive market. The strength of product and the brand’s commitment to fleet customers made Volkswagen a worthy winner of the Editor’s Award.’

Volkswagen’s Head of Fleet Services, Vincent Kinner, said: ‘We’re proud to be honoured with this award, especially since it recognises the service we provide to our fleet customers and the challenge of meeting and exceeding the high standards they rightfully expect of us.’

The Crafter was honoured for the third year in a row, being crowned Best Large Van. On collecting the award, Chris Blue, National Fleet Manager, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, commented: ‘For the Crafter to defend its title for the third year in the a row in such a competitive market is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the level of sustained popularity the Crafter has enjoyed in the UK.’

John Kendall, Editor of Van Fleet World, added: ‘Standard safety equipment including ESP, a broad range of van bodies, plus Volkswagen’s in-house conversion programme make the Crafter an attractive vehicle for fleet managers. And the car-like driving qualities make it one of the easiest big vans to drive.’
