Bellway Homes has announced a new development at Killingworth, Stephenson Park which will comprise of 127 homes.

Rob Armstrong, Sales Director at Bellway, said: “We are delighted to return to Killingworth, our previous development in the village, Killingworth Manor was extremely popular and consequently we are very confident of success at Stephenson Park. A sales office will be open on site shortly but at the moment we are dealing with sales from our Seaton Deleval development”.

Stephenson Park is situated on the eastern edge of Killingworth Village on a former NHS distribution and storage facility.

“The development will be a significant asset to the local area and will see a former redundant site returned to community use. Our plans include a significant amount of landscaping which will complement the sites elevated position which provides excellent views over the local countryside,” confirmed Rob Armstrong.

Stephenson Park will provide a range of properties which will appeal to first time buyers and families. All the properties will be finished to the highest standards and enjoy a quality specification, with modern bathrooms and kitchens. Externally, the homes will benefit from garages and landscaped front gardens.

Locally buyers will be able to enjoy two very traditional pubs, The Killingworth Arms and The Plough Inn, located in the centre the very characterful village.

For families, there are a number of well-regarded schools in the area, including West Moor Primary School, Amberley Primary School and St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School for younger pupils and George Stephenson High School for older students.

Buyers will be able to take advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which permits a minimum deposit of 5 percent and allows a buyer to take advantage of a 20 percent 5 year interest free loan which reduces monthly mortgage repayments during the first 5 years of occupation.

Commuters will enjoy excellent local transport connections, the A1, A19 and the A189 are easily accessible. The nearest Metro station is at Palmersville, just over a mile away, from where regular train services run to Newcastle, Gateshead and South Shields.
