18th May 2016 Print

From today, Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers will be able to download and start using Android Pay.

Android Pay enables users to seamlessly tap and pay with their Android devices at almost 460,000 payment terminals in UK shops, bringing together payment networks, banks and retailers to help customers pay simply and securely.

As the largest provider of current accounts and number one issuer of new credit cards in the UK, this launch is another key milestone in the adoption of new payment technologies, with millions of customers being offered access to this type of technology for the first time.

Stephen Noakes, Managing Director Retail Customer Products, Lloyds Banking Group said: “We’re delighted to offer our customers access to Android Pay. This means that contactless payment capability will be made available to the majority of our customers who want to use their smart phone or device to make payments.”

Android Pay is easy to set up and customers will continue to get the same benefits and security that already come with their credit and debit cards.
