You can invite family and friends to sit around your own round table if you are lucky enough to get the keys to a brand new home in Knights Park, Woolton.

But you’ll need to be ready to charge ahead as only a few homes remain for sale at this popular Liverpool development.

The development of just 21 homes was the first Redrow scheme to go ahead under the umbrella of the Liverpool Housing Partnership, a collaboration designed to build good quality homes across the city; and it has been popular from the outset with buyers even queuing overnight to reserve their dream home.

With such enthusiasm from day one only a small selection of homes is still available. Among them is the four-bedroom, semi-detached Thirlmere style property from £289,995.

With four bedrooms and spacious accommodation over three floors, the Thirlmere is a really flexible family home. There’s a magnificent master bedroom on the top floor with en-suite shower room, which could be a sanctuary for mum and dad away from the mayhem after a long day. Alternatively, it would be a great space for grown up children still living at home and needing a little privacy or perhaps even a sumptuous guest suite.

On the floor below there are three further bedrooms and a family bathroom, while the ground floor is largely open plan with a light and airy lounge, kitchen and dining area and French doors onto the garden; it’s a sociable space which the whole family can enjoy and perfect for entertaining.

It’s not just families who’ll find their place at Knights Park – the development has proved perfect for professionals and couples too. Jonathan Powell, 24, and his fiancée Dannika Burnell, 25, had set their sights on a particular three-bedroom detached Warwick style property as their first home and queued overnight to reserve.

“We arrived at site at 10pm and parked our car as close to the sales office as we could,” Jonathan explained. “At 2.30am someone else arrived so we set up some chairs and sat outside for the rest of the night. My mum and dad came at 7am and took over so that we could pop home and get showered and changed. We had been following the development and knew exactly which house we wanted and we simply didn’t want to miss out.”

Definitely not disappointed, Jonathan and Dannika have recently moved into their new home.

The 21 three and four-bedroom homes of Knights Park have replaced the site of the old Watergate School, in Speke Road, Woolton. All hail from Redrow’s Heritage Collection, which combines traditional Arts & Crafts-inspired architectural design with contemporary 21st century interiors. Perfectly placed close to the amenities of Woolton village, it’s a great location from which to enjoy the delights of the city too and the motorway network is also easily reached for travel further afield.

“Knights Park was our first venture within the Liverpool Housing Partnership and we are delighted – though not surprised – with its success,” says Claire Jarvis, Redrow sales director. “From the outset people have been clamouring to move here – and why wouldn’t they? Residents have all amenities on their doorsteps whether they are a young couple or a family, and they are close to the big city with all the benefits that offers, from nightlife, shopping and tourist attractions.

“The only downside for would-be home owners is that there are only a few properties remaining, so if they want to live in a beautiful home in an equally lovely area they’ll need to make a move fast. Of course they can take advantage of the Help to Buy scheme, which allows people to pay just a 5% deposit and get a government-backed equity loan for 20%, which is interest-free for the first five years.”

Help to Buy means the initial price for a four-bedroom Thirlmere is reduced from £289,995 to just £231,996, making it more affordable than ever.
