Fiat Ducato on sale and on show at NEC

6th October 2006 Print
Fiat Ducato Fiat Commercial Vehicles will be an exhibitor at this year’s W6 Working with Wood exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham, (stand No. D27, Hall 17, 8-11 October 2006). W6 is the trade exhibition for businesses working with wood, and is held every two years at the NEC.

Fiat Commercial Vehicles will be showcasing a range of products suitable for people involved in the wood and timber business, with centre stage going to the all-new Ducato which goes on sale in the UK today (6 October). New Ducato is bigger and better than ever, and customers can choose from vans with an effective volume up to 17 m3 and a payload capacity of up to 1850kg.

New Ducato features an all-MultiJet, 16-valve, turbodiesel, Euro 4-compliant engine range: 100 bhp 2.2 MultiJet, 120 and 130 bhp 2.3 MultiJet, (the latter is used only for the motorhome sector), and a 157 bhp 3.0 MultiJet unit. All engines are combined with new 5 or 6 speed gearboxes.

New Ducato has been designed with safety as a top priority, and examples include a body with differential crumple zones, new braking systems with all-round disc brakes, the adoption of ABS anti-lock braking with EBD, and a driver's airbag throughout the entire range.

Fiat Commercial Vehicles prides itself in offering customers a comprehensive range, from different sized vans to dropside trucks and chassis cabs. Fiat Commercial Vehicles is confident that businesses can always find the optimal solution for any transport need. Versatile, sturdy and spacious, the new range offers comfort and safety to make customers’ business easier.

All visitors who have pre-registered for W6 Working with Wood will automatically be entered into a free prize draw with the opportunity of winning a new Fiat Doblò Cargo, voted International Van of the Year 2006.

Commenting on the show, Paul Godden, Brand Manager for Fiat Commercial Vehicles, says: “UK sales volume and market share for Fiat Commercial Vehicles have grown in each of the last four years. Whilst we are moving our sights to capture an increasing share of the fleet market, we have not lost sight of the fact that our success to date has been built largely on sales to small & medium enterprises (SME) which operate vans, a sector covering a variety of specialist trades people, which of course includes those businesses involved in many aspects of the wood trade.

“Our intentions in exhibiting at W6 Working with Wood are of course, to further build awareness of Fiat Commercial Vehicles, and especially with the launch today of the new Ducato range. We believe that visitors to this show will be looking not just at what's available or new in their particular trade, but what other products can also improve the efficiency and image of their business. With the Fiat range including Doblò Cargo, the current International Van of the Year, and the all-new Ducato, we are confident that we will generate a lot of enquiries as a result.”
