Fiat unveils new light van

Fiat Fiorino Fiat Professional, the commercial vehicle arm of Fiat Group Automobiles UK Ltd, has today unveiled a new light van built in partnership with PSA Peugeot Citroen.

The new vehicle, called the Fiat Fiorino, represents a whole new choice for the light van market thanks to its compact style, useful performance and exciting styling. Designed to be agile in urban surroundings, the new Fiorino is easy to park and highly economical to run.

With a length of just 3.86 metres, the new Fiorino offers surprising interior dimensions, with a load capacity of 2.5m3. This can be increased to 2.8m3 and the working length expanded to 2.5 metres courtesy of a fold-away passenger seat. Access to the load space is made easier thanks to hinged rear doors and a large side sliding door.

A choice of economical petrol or turbodiesel engines are environmentally friendly – the diesel boasting a CO2/km figure of just 119g.

A range of safety equipment, including ABS anti-lock brakes and driver’s airbag comes as standard. Rear parking sensors, a separate cab locking system and additional storage space are available as options.

This new range of light commercial vehicles represents a total investment of £265 million, £132 million of which was for R&D. The new vans will be built at the Tofas plant in Turkey. Tofas is Turkey’s leading car manufacturer and is a joint venture between the Fiat and Koc groups.
