Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is due to start construction work this autumn on a brand new development of 95 new homes in Longbridge, south-west Birmingham.

The development – which received planning approval from Birmingham City Council in March 2017 – will be located off Groveley Lane, to the east of Cofton Park. Construction work is expected to start on site in October 2017, with the first new homes expected to be released for sale the following month.

Taylor Wimpey’s plans include a mix of two, three and four-bedroom new homes to suit buyers in a wide range of circumstances, from first-time buyers and downsizers through to growing families.

The housebuilder will also be making financial contributions of £237,500 towards infrastructure within the Longbridge area.

Elaine Cartwright, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We’re delighted that work is due to start soon on this new development in Longbridge, which will provide a wonderful selection of new homes in this popular location in the West Midlands.

“Property-seekers should register their details with us today to ensure they are among the first in line to receive the latest information about when the first collection of homes will be released for sale.”

The new homes will boast a fantastic setting bordering the 135-acre Cofton Park, which features rolling fields, open grassland, stunning oak and ash trees, sports pitches for community use and an old farmhouse that has been the focal point of the park for more than 200 years.

Longbridge town centre has recently undergone significant retail regeneration, including a new Sainsbury’s, Marks & Spencer and Costa Coffee, while the wider shopping and leisure opportunities of Birmingham city centre lie just eight miles away.

Commuters will appreciate that the development is within easy reach of Junction 4 of the M5 and Junction 2 of the M42, while Longbridge railway station runs regular services to Birmingham New Street in just 20 minutes, from where London Euston can be reached within an hour and a half.

Longbridge is less than a 30-minute drive to Birmingham Airport, which has over 70 daily flights to international destinations.
