Lovell Homes has launched two inspiring show homes at its fast-selling Station Fields development in the Suffolk village of Mendlesham.

The new three- and four-bedroom show properties are adding to the buzz surrounding the development where more than a third of its 50 open market sale homes have already been reserved off-plan, with homebuyers jumping at the chance to live in a brand-new home in a thriving village community.

“We’re delighted by how sales are going as well as the extremely positive feedback to our new show homes,” says Lovell regional sales manager Adrian Garrood. “The development is special to us as it’s our first open market homes site in Suffolk. Visitors are impressed by the interiors of our new show properties, the quality of the build and the way homes have been carefully designed to suit the setting.” Most of the buyers so far are local to the area and around half are first-time purchasers.

The newly-unveiled show properties – the three-bedroom detached Laxfield house style and the detached four-bedroom Aspall house type – have been styled by design experts Blocc Interiors to fully demonstrate the possibilities offered by life at Station Fields. The Aspall house style has an appealing ‘country chic’ feel while the three-bedroom Laxfield presents a more contemporary look. All homes at Station Fields are fitted with Bosch appliances, Kohler sanitary ware and Symphony Kitchens. Buyers who reserve early can also customise their living space by choosing from the Inspiration range – an extensive collection of stylish fixtures and fittings, from fitted kitchens, flooring and tiles to appliances and power points.

The history of the Station Fields site, previously the home of the village railway station, has been given a prominent role in the new development. Each house style is named after one of the local villages served by trains running along the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway – known as ‘the Middy’ - which ran from Haughley to Laxfield until 1952. The connection is also celebrated in the Aspall show home where one of the bedrooms has been designed with a railway theme, including a station sign.

Mendlesham’s modern transport links remain a major advantage for homebuyers: the village is just seven miles from Stowmarket where the railway station has direct connections to London Liverpool Street and Norwich. The A140, leading south to Ipswich and north to Norwich, is just a mile away and Bury St Edmunds is a 32-minute drive.

The village itself is a lively community with a pub and shops while its primary school (Ofsted rated Good with a number of outstanding features) actually neighbours Station Fields. Also close by is the Mendlesham Millennium Wood, 12.5 acres of meadow and woodland, planted with mainly native trees, which is a haven for wildlife.

Current availability at Station Fields includes the three-bedroom semi-detached Wilby house style at £254,950 (£203,960 after a Help to Buy: Equity Loan*). The semi-detached Laxfield house type is available from £259,950 (£207,960 after a Help to Buy: Equity Loan) and there is just one Aspall house style at £339,950 (£271,960 after a Help to Buy: Equity Loan).
