Hot on the heels of a show home opening, Elan Homes is offering to help make buying a new home in Macclesfield even easier by hosting a Help to Buy event.

The niche developer’s knowledgeable sales executives will be joined at Canalside this Saturday (March 17) by independent financial advisors and Help to Buy agents. Between them they will be able to assess visitors’ finances and match them with homes that fit both their housing needs and their budget.

Current availability at Canalside includes three and four-bedroom homes, all of which fall within the threshold for Help to Buy. Some are even Stamp Duty exempt for first time buyers, while the tax a four-bedroom home could be as little as £749.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, explained: “Now that the show home is open at Canalside we’re seeing an increase in enquiries from potential purchasers including those looking to buy their first home. We’ve found that there’s still a lot of uncertainty about Help to Buy – people don’t know if they’re eligible or what the scheme could mean for them. To make things as simple as possible we’re holding a Help to Buy event with experts on hand to answer buyers’ questions and guide them through the scheme. The equity loan scheme is a great way for first time buyers to get on the housing ladder and can also be used by movers, providing they have sold their existing property subject to contract.”

Prices at Canalside start from £239,995 for a three-bedroom Marford. A detached property, with integral garage, the Marford has been designed to maximise the potential of the space available. The well equipped kitchen is at the front of the property, with combined lounge and dining room to the rear. There’s also a convenient cloakroom.

Upstairs, are three bedrooms, including master with en suite, plus the family bathroom.

Help to Buy offers people the chance to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the purchase price so that they can reserve a brand new home with a deposit of as little as 5%, plus a 75% mortgage from their chosen lender. Crucially, the equity loan is interest free for five years.
