CEM Day expands Iveco territory across South Wales
Iveco has appointed long-established dealer CEM Day Ltd to expand from its current Iveco dealership in Swansea to manage the whole of the South Wales territory. This announcement marks the first major step to be taken following Iveco’s national dealer review, which was announced by Henk Van Leuven, Managing Director of Iveco UK, in January 2008. As a medium to long term project, the dealer restructuring is designed to provide both the sales and aftersales support required to meet the company’s five year plan of achieving a 15 per cent market share for Daily, 30 per cent for Eurocargo and 15 per cent for Stralis and Trakker.
Commenting on the new strategy, Van Leuven says: “We have been working towards CEM Day incorporating the Cardiff region into its area of responsibility as part of our move to having a core of 18 full range dealer partners. This will be supported by 32 heavy truck support dealers, whilst the Daily network is actively growing to include 125 sales, service and parts outlets across the UK.”
Andrea Bucci, Network and Marketing Director, adds: “CEM Day has an excellent reputation within the commercial vehicle sector, and as part of Days Motor Group –the largest automotive dealer in Wales – they represent the perfect partner to help achieve our market aspirations. Their commitment to invest in the Iveco brand signifies the joint potential we envisage for Iveco in this territory.”
CEM Day’s enlarged area of responsibility has seen the company open a new sales office in Hadfield Road, Cardiff, in addition to its existing dealership in Beaufort Road, Swansea. These two sites will be supported by two authorised repair agents, comprising Glenside Commercials in Caerphilly and Dragon Fleet Services in Merthyr Tydfil.
CEM Day has been established for over 80 years and operates from 12 premises spread across South Wales, employing a team of over 500 people. It has held the Iveco franchise since 1986 and routinely sells in excess of 500 new and 150 used Iveco vans and trucks each year. It also holds franchises with a number of major car manufacturers, in addition to operating a highly successful vehicle hire business, Day’s Rental, with a fleet of more than 2,500 cars, vans, motorhomes and horseboxes – many built on Iveco chassis’.
