Shared Ownership homes launched in Essex’s largest new district

Part of a significant new district in Chelmsford, L&Q is launching 18 one, two and three bedroom apartments available for Shared Ownership at Beaulieu. Set within the former parkland of King Henry VIII’s Palace of Beaulieu, the leafy homes are nestled in acres of beautiful Essex countryside.

Designed by award-winning BDG Architecture & Design, the Shared Ownership homes are set amongst a series of themed gardens, overlooking an area of formal parkland.

A joint venture between L&Q and Countryside, once completed, Beaulieu will be a thriving new mixed tenure community of 3,600 new homes. As part of the flourishing community, the scheme will also deliver two new primary schools and a secondary school, a neighbourhood centre, health and sport facilities and new retail amenities.

Sitting comfortably within the London commuter belt, approximately 32 miles North East of London, Chelmsford is a well-connected commuter base - reaching Stratford in just 25 minutes and London Liverpool Street in 34 minutes. A new bus route links Beaulieu with Chelmsford City Centre and Chelmsford Rail Station, and all residents will be entitled to a year’s free travel. Following a £22m investment, Network Rail has also committed to developing a new railway station at Beaulieu.

In addition, the scheme will have a new relief road connecting Beaulieu to the A12, a bus interchange, pedestrian and cycle routes and substantial bicycle parking.

Each Shared Ownership home comes with contemporary Symphony kitchens and have integrated Electrolux and Zanussi appliances. Bathrooms are fitted with designer sanitaryware and ceramic tiling, while the master bedroom has inbuilt wardrobes and are carpeted. Each home has private outdoor space, and at least one allocated parking space.

Prices for Shared Ownership homes at Beaulieu start from £55,625 for a 25% share of a one bedroom home (full market value £222,500), and £69,375 for a 25% share of a 2 bedroom home (full market value £277,500).

Two bedroom houses in this phase will be launching Summer 2018.
