Most of us suffer from a lack of confidence or self-esteem at some point during our lives. But as we get older, low confidence becomes more common. Once we retire, we can lose purpose. We can quickly go from being successful and popular, to having little to do with our time and feeling lost. Mobility and health issues can mean that we lose independence and isolation is very common in later life. But being more confident means that you are more likely to go out and meet people, enjoy new hobbies, eat well and exercise, and generally take better care of yourself. More confident seniors could live for longer and enjoy a higher quality of life. 

Fortunately, there’s a lot that you can do to boost your confidence, no matter how old you are. 

Surround Yourself with Friends and Positive People

It’s always easier to be confident when we spend our time with happy, positive people that lift us and help us to enjoy ourselves. Treating yourself to small indulgences, whether it’s a slice of cake, a dinner with friends, or a long bubble bath, can help you to add joy to your days and give you something to look forward to, both of which can boost your confidence.
