Scottish drivers least prepared in UK for breakdowns

21st May 2007 Print

Recent research by YouGov has shown that Scottish drivers are least likely to have some kind of roadside rescue, compared to their counterparts in the rest of the UK.

A national survey by a motor insurance company found that drivers are too frightened to stop and help stranded motorists, and so breaking down could be a big issue for motorists in the United Kingdom.

In the UK, as the majority of insurance policies do not include breakdown cover and home recovery, then it seems entirely sensible to purchase a roadside assistance policy from a reputable source, when buying a new or used car.

Motorpoint the UK’s largest car supermarket offers a comprehensive group of policies for car buyers available in the exclusive “Elements” packages, or singularly with policies for used cars aged between 1 to 3 years. There is also roadside assistance covering up to 4 cars in the same household, home start, and European cover.

Paul Winfield, Director of Motorpoint, commented: “With manufacturers offering new car warranty policies and road assist programmes from 1 to 3 years, then buyers need the reassurance when purchasing a car from Motorpoint that the options packages provide added value. At Motorpoint, we are always evaluating the market in order to provide the customer with the most cost effective and comprehensive policies available.”
