Alliance & Leicester increases ‘Recommend a Friend’ offer

Alliance & Leicester is giving its customers two reasons to celebrate this summer by increasing its ‘Recommend a Friend’ offer, and also providing free mobile banking for new and existing customers until 31st December 2007.

From July, existing Premier and Premier Direct current account customers can benefit from a £50 cash incentive for recommending these accounts to their friends and family, with a further £50 going to the successful applicant as well.

As a further bonus, from 1st July through to the end of the year, both new and existing current account customers will benefit from a free mobile banking service, giving customers secure access to their account information - wherever they are in the world.

Andy Bayes, Head of Current Accounts at Alliance & Leicester said: “Our Recommend a Friend incentive is a great way of rewarding our customers and showing our appreciation for choosing to bank with us. This increase to our offer will last until the end of July, and gives potential customers another reason to bank with us in addition to a market leading credit and debit interest rate which have won Moneyfacts awards for the last few years.”

“In addition, once people have opened an Alliance & Leicester Premier or Premier Direct current account they will also benefit from a free mobile banking service until end of December 2007. With this, customers will be able to keep a closer eye on their finances enabling easy management of their account, wherever they are in the world.”

Recommend a Friend

The friend or family member who the customer recommends needs to be 21 years old or over and be able to fund their Premier Direct or Premier Current Account with the £500 minimum monthly funding within 8 weeks of account opening.

Customers can register free for Mobile Banking service either by:

Through Alliance & Leicester’s Internet Banking site and selecting ‘Mobile Banking’ then ‘Register’. Registering via Internet Banking enables customers to use the service immediately as soon as they have downloaded MONILINK to their phone.

If registering via the website or mobile phone customers will receive a card activation number in the post a few days later to enable them to activate mobile banking on their handset
