A&L offer £100 to switch online to its Premier Current Account

26th August 2008 Print
While Premier League football clubs switch players each season to get the best results, research from Alliance & Leicester Current Accounts reveals that six in ten (58%) UK banking customers have never switched their current account. Indeed 58% have had the same account for 10 years or more, despite competitive offers on the market.

Worryingly, eight in ten (84%) say that they have no plans to review their current account provider in the future. Such attitudes from Premiership managers would probably get them sacked and see their team relegated, to boot.

Luckily for current account holders who are fed up with their home team, Alliance & Leicester is offering an attractive £100 incentive to new customers who switch online to its Premier Current Account. Alternatively there is the market-leading 8.5% AER credit interest rate on Premier Direct or Premier 50 Current Accounts, and an eye-popping 10% AER for 16 to 21 year olds through Premier 21 Current Account.

Andy Muddimer, Current Accounts Manager at Alliance & Leicester said: "It is impossible to tell whether your team's transfers are winners or losers until the end of the season. But you are certain to be on to a winner by relegating your unfit current account that pays second division interest, and signing up to the Premier league of accounts, where you will reap the rewards straight away."

Andy Muddimer added: "In addition, all new customers who sign up to an account in the Premier range can benefit from our Recommend a Friend scheme which rewards customers with £25 for themselves, and £25 for a friend when the new account is up and running."

Alliance & Leicester offers the ‘Premier Switching Service' for customers switching accounts to one of Alliance & Leicester's Premier range of accounts - it takes the hassle out of transferring existing direct debits and standing orders from a customer's current bank. If a customer uses the switching service, Alliance & Leicester is also able to match the overdraft limit they had with their old bank.
