AXA Winterthur enhances Tailored Selection range

23rd June 2009 Print
The AXA Sterling Corporate Bond Fund is now available through AXA Winterthur Wealth Management's Tailored Selection, enhancing the choice of fixed interest funds accessible to investors.

The aim of the AXA Sterling Corporate Bond is to generate returns by gaining exposure to the sterling denominated corporate bond market in the UK and overseas. The fund may also invest in transferable securities, derivatives, cash, deposits, units in collective investment schemes and money market instruments.

Designed for those customers looking for a more cautious investment during the current economic climate, the AXA Sterling Corporate Bond aims to provide the ‘next step' out of bank and building society accounts, but with some added volatility and the expectation of generating a higher income.

The benefits of the funds include;

‘keep it simple' investment approach - the fund aims to preserve capital, while at the same time generate consistent, incremental returns

robust governance - combined with risk management, which is fully integrated throughout every stage of the investment process, this is essential to achieving the fund's aims

investment flexibility - the fund allows quick and easy adaptation of the portfolio to reflect prevailing economic and market conditions

diversification for reduced risk - the fund holds a minimum number of 100 stocks across 10 industrial sectors. Strict limits are applied to single stock holdings, which are capped at 2% of the portfolio

limited sector exposure - this is confined to 10% maximum. A policy of underweighting stocks or sectors that form disproportionately high levels within an index is maintained.

David Thompson, managing director, sales and marketing, AXA Winterthur Wealth Management says: "The AXA Sterling Corporate Bond aims to capitalise on some unprecedented high yields, while minimising the risk through careful selection of robust, quality, investment-grade companies.

"Together with a focus on long term value investment, this fund is ideally suited to these uncertain market times."
