FundsNetwork adds two more multi-asset trusts to range

16th March 2007 Print
With trust-related cases already coming through the door just four weeks after launching the first of its Multi-Asset Trusts, Fidelity FundsNetworkTM, is pleased to announce the addition of two more trusts to its range.

With the launch of its Bare Loan Trust and Discretionary Loan Trust, FundsNetwork is now able to offer advisers a total of five trust options – which also include:

Bare Gift Trust
Discretionary Gift Trust
Discretionary Will Trust

The FundsNetwork range of Multi-Asset Trusts enables advisers to offer their clients a variety of ways in which to apply tax and estate planning concepts to applicable investments held on the FundsNetwork platform.

David Dalton-Brown, Head of FundsNetwork, comments: “Our desire to deliver a holistic platform to advisers which offers everything they need from funds to retirement wrappers and now estate planning is well on its way. What’s more, we have designed our trusts based on what advisers told us they needed – the watchword being flexibility. Because our Trusts wrap around a range of platform products, they are able to move with the investor as their needs, asset allocation and investment goals change.”

The new Loan Trusts allow clients to freeze the value of the assets held in the trust for Inheritance Tax (IHT) purposes with any future growth being classed as outside their estate i.e. for the benefit of the beneficiaries. Clients can retain access to their capital in that the loan can be repaid at any time – which is often a significant comfort factor in estate planning.

Therefore, over time clients can enjoy the loan repayments, and in the process reduce the taxable value of their estate.

Dalton-Brown continued: “The response we’ve had from advisers so far, based on the number of cases already received and the feedback we’ve had, has been very encouraging, and I look forward to announcing the launch of two more Trusts to complete the range.”

By adding trusts to its overall offering, FundsNetwork is bringing financial planning solutions to the mass market by offering advisers and their clients the opportunity to plan effectively for IHT without incurring vast costs. The inclusion of Trusts complements the existing range of next generation planning tools available on FundsNetwork, and a range of wrappers including a SIPP, Onshore Investment Bond, and ISA. FundsNetwork will also be launching an International (offshore) Bond later this year.
