Rent payment service made more convenient
St. Leger Homes of Doncaster is piloting a new payment service through Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank, which will almost double the number of outlets where tenants can make rent payments. The new service, which is available immediately, means that tenants are able to pay their rent at any of the region’s 186 outlets that display the payzone sign, in addition to the 199 Post Offices© that currently accept payments. The pilot service follows the announcement last June that Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank, bill payment provider to St. Leger Homes, and alphyra, which owns payzone, Europe’s largest cash acceptance network, were to team up.
This new service for St. Leger Homes will mean more convenience for tenants. The network also offers extended accessibility as most of the payzone outlets have longer opening hours, including weekends, with some open 24/7. It will also mean a greater choice of locations as the payzone network includes newsagents, convenience stores and petrol stations.
Commenting on the new service, Martin Musgrove, Chief Executive of St. Leger Homes said: “We are delighted to be one of the first organisations to pilot this new service. With people leading increasingly busy lives, we are committed to offering our customers as many payment options as possible and this new agreement will enhance our current service. I am confident that this new service will prove to be very popular with customers.”
Steve Maloney, Payment Services Manager at Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank said:“We have received a lot of interest from our bill payment customers since we announced our partnership with payzone’s owners, alphyra and I am pleased that St. Leger Homes has chosen to be one of the first organisations to provide their customers with the extended network.
“The Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank and alphyra agreement highlights our commitment to the bill payment market. In addition, unlike some other bill payment providers, Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank is also able to provide organisations with a full banking service, ensuring that all their financial needs are satisfied.”
