Banks provide business banking for everyone

19th June 2007 Print
British banks work to help all businesses - regardless of colour - to prosper through a variety of services tailored to individual banking needs the British Bankers’ Association (BBA) said today.

Responding to a DTI survey the BBA said it would be happy to work with the government to identify ways in which services can be made more accessible to all sections of the community and to help bring down barriers to finance particularly for people with no business history.

BBA chief executive Angela Knight CBE said: "British banks provide business services to an increasing number of customers from all sections of society. Services are not related to someone's ethnic origin in any way and lending - based on credit scoring - is entirely colour-blind. I look forward to hearing from the government about how we can work with them on the new taskforce."
