Barclays to take investment education to the high street

24th July 2007 Print
Barclays Financial Planning is launching an education programme starting with a series of investment seminars, aimed at educating customers on investment opportunities, to help them make the most of their money.

The seminar programme will then be rolled out across the UK and later to different parts of the world.

The first seminar will be held on Wednesday July 25th and Barclays customers will hear presentations form three of the UK's top investment managers with over 60 years of investment experience between them. The speakers include Fidelity’s Anthony Bolton, New Star’s Theodora Zemek and Jupiter’s John Chatfield Roberts. Each of the speakers will give a presentation outlining their own investment experiences and share the secrets of their success.

Stephen Ingledew, Commercial Director for Barclays Financial Planning comments: “Education on investments is becoming increasingly important for consumers in the UK, not only because of the demographic time bomb, but because the investment opportunities are now more global due to the changing economy. As one of the world’s largest asset managers with over £1 trillion under management, covering over 50 markets, Barclays is extremely well placed to educate UK consumers on investments and of the opportunities in today’s changing global economy.”

The ‘secret of successful investing’ seminar will take place at the London Marriott Grosvenor Hotel, Grosvenor Square, at 6pm with presentations scheduled to begin at 6.30pm. The event will be hosted by Bret Packard, Managing Director Barclays Financial Planning, Premier Banking, Deposit Products.
