HSBC launches text message banking for businesses
HSBC is offering business customers the next generation of telephone banking with the launch of text message banking; enabling ‘on demand’, 24 hour secure access to account information including mini-statements and balance enquiries through their mobile phone.The new service complements HSBC’s award winning business internet banking and telephone banking services, giving customers access via SMS to account information on up to five accounts including:
Weekly or monthly mini-statements showing the balance and last five transactions
Instant alert message system – SMS can be set up to alert the customer to:
Account balance fluctuations – when the balance falls below , or rises above, a certain amount, set by the customer, for example – ‘tell me when my balance hits £2,000’
Credits received to the account that are above a certain amount, set by the customer
Payments made from the account – amount set by the customer.
Huw Morgan, head of business banking at HSBC, said: “Many of our business banking customers like to have access to their accounts while they are on the move - text message banking is the natural next step. The new service allows customers to keep up to date with their banking wherever they are, offering a snapshot of their finances at any time of day or night.”
Registration for text message banking is free of charge, via telephone banking, and customers can receive one weekly or monthly mini-statement for free. Additional statements and personal alerts are charged at a flat fee of £2.50 per month.
