Bank staff aiming to sharpen their skills to combat money laundering and to follow the Banking Code are increasingly learning at their desks using British Bankers’ Association online training.

Training in anti-money laundering is the runaway bestselling training package on the bbae-learning website, relaunched this month. The site at bbae-learning.com offers complete training and examination services to organisations and teams.

BBA Chief Executive Angela Knight CBE said: “Training is how Britain stays on top as the world’s financial centre. Time and again, business comes to Britain as a direct result of the excellence and expertise of the people who work here. Through bbae-learning our people can sharpen their skills in some essential areas. The financial world is changing all the time and bbae-learning is constantly improving on its curriculum to provide the essential skills we need to retain our reputation for excellence.”

Since its launch in October 2001, bbae-learning has trained more than 53,000 individuals. Its most popular packages address money laundering, the Banking Code and the Business Banking Code.

Future developments on the relaunched site will include training on the Consumer Credit Act plus tailored money laundering modules for corporate banking, investment banking and private banking and wealth management.
