Yorkshire Building Society puts customers first
Yorkshire Building Society, a financial organisation committed to putting customers before profits, is opening a new branch in Oldham. As a mutual organisation the Society’s primary objective is to deliver benefits to its members who are the customers, whilst plc organisations continue to focus on profit maximisation rather than meeting customer needs.
Yorkshire’s commitment to serving its members means that it considers the growth of its branch network as important as investment in its internet and telephone operations. This ensures that its customers are able to deal with the Society in whichever way they choose.
Iain Cornish, Yorkshire’s chief executive said “We recognises that many of our members value face to face service and we are therefore delighted to be expanding our branch network into Oldham. We already have more than 5,000 members living in the Oldham area so the town was an ideal choice for branch expansion. This is the third new branch we have opened this year and we’ve also expanded our high street presence with four new agencies.”
The new branch will have a team of eight experienced staff, including two fully qualified mortgage advisers and a Legal & General financial adviser. The new office will provide a bright and modern environment for local people to conduct their financial business, with three private interview areas and full disabled access.
Other branches opened by Yorkshire Building Society this year have been in Warrington and Chester. The new agencies have opened in Lewes, Broadstone, Blandford and Hale.
