Shaping the future

31st March 2008 Print
Members of Britannia Building Society can help shape its future by casting their vote at the Society's Annual General Meeting (AGM).

What's more, members will also be raising money for charity as Britannia has pledged to donate 35p for every online vote made and 10p for every other vote registered to its new corporate charity, Alzheimer's Society.

Eligible members can vote online, by post, at one of Britannia's 254 branches or in person at this year's AGM which will be held on Wednesday 23 April at the Britannia Stadium, Stoke-on-Trent.

Neville Richardson, group chief executive, said: "Our AGM is an important opportunity for our members - the owners of the business - to have their say on the future of the Society."

In recent years, Britannia's AGM has achieved the highest voting record of all building societies in the UK.

Neville added: "Although we have traditionally achieved a high voting turnout, it is important that we listen to the feedback from members about how our AGM voting process can be made even simpler.

"Based on last year's feedback, we have now completely re-designed the voting packs, to make them easier to understand and to hopefully encourage more members than ever to have their say in shaping the Society's future.
