Chelsea 's £205,000 boost from Britannia

14th April 2008 Print
Fans of Chelsea FC will be celebrating a £205,000 boost from Britannia Building Society tonight when the Society presents the club with its annual bonus cheque.

The money comes from the loyal Chelsea fans who hold Britannia mortgage and savings accounts. Since Britannia's partnership with Chelsea began in 1999, more than 6800 fans have opened affinity products, including savings accounts, ISAs and mortgages.

Wayne Riches, National Affinity Sales Manager at Britannia, will present Chris Alexander, Chelsea's Finance Director, with the cheque before the kick off of Chelsea's tie against Wigan Athletic on this evening. The money will be used to support the Chelsea FC Academy and the future development of the club.

Wayne said: "Britannia has a great relationship with Chelsea and I am delighted to be presenting the club with this cheque. Our Save and Support accounts and ISAs give Chelsea fans the opportunity to save for their own future while helping the future of their favourite club too."
