In control of money… or the other way around?
We all like to think we're on top of our finances, but in reality most of us are guilty of ignoring that bill until the last minute, or putting off planning our pension because we don't really understand it.In the current climate, when making your money work for you is more important than ever, Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (N&P) is launching an online survey to help people find out what kind of money manager they are, and simple actions they can take to get more in control of their finances. Plus, as an added bonus, there's the chance to win £100 to start you on your way!
N&P's research has shown that people fall into one of three categories when it comes to managing their money - ‘In control of money', ‘On top of money, could do more' and ‘Money controls me'. The online survey created by N&P enables people to find out what category they fall into by answering 10 quick questions. Then it explains what their answers say about them, and gives some hints and tips tailored to their money management style, to help them get more in control of their finances.
The hints and tips vary - some are quick to action and can make a little difference straight away, whereas others involve more planning and make a big difference over time. So no matter how long you've got, be it 10 minutes or an hour, there'll be something you can do to get on top of your money.
The survey can be found online now at beontopofmoney.co.uk.
Debbie Britton, head of customer marketing at N&P said: "We understand there are more exciting things to do than sort out your finances, but in the current climate it's really important that you do everything you can to ensure you're as in control as possible. Our research showed that people are worried about managing their money at the moment, and even if they can take just one helpful hint on board it will be ten minutes well spent."
